I had lunch with my boss today. We discussed a client but we also discussed my apparent lack of enthusiam in my job. He hinted that there was room to grow in our company and that I sometimes vary from spectacular to mediocre. He sounded quite serious of some kind of management position, on the same level as our current middle manager. I gave him my ideas.

I had to dash to a client's for a conference call and a meeting. It was quite productive.

I was supposed to get out early, but I volunteered for last-minute appt. It was quick and easy. I also had to volunteer for being on-call, basically, for the next four days.

"Oh, and next Friday... is Hawaiian shirt day... so, you know, if you want to you can go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans."
