I just watched this last night. I've seen it a few years ago but I have a new-found love for classic, funny movies. The movie boils down to this: a nuclear attack has been initiated upon Russia by a rogue US General. His goal is for the US not to be able to recind the order and bring back the bombers, putting the President in the akward position of having to embrace the situation and wipe Russia off the map. The consequences would be a cripped Russia could retaliate and destroy the United States. Hillarity ensues. Petter Sellers stars and is three different characters n the film. George C. Scott also stars as a commy-phobic General.
